  • On Easter Monday we lost all power to our electric shower. I emailed Paul the same night hoping to get a response the next day. I actually received a response via email within 30 minutes and a visit was arranged for 9am the next morning. Paul arrived just before 9am and within 30 minutes had the issue fixed. If anyone needs any electrical work carried out, I cannot recommend Paul highly enough.

  • Paul and his team recently carried out a fairly extensive partial rewire for me and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The quality of their work was excellent, it was completed in the timescale we agreed, and everyone on site treated my property with respect. Paul also offered me helpful advice when he initially visited to look at the works, and his communication and updates throughout the works were great.

  • We had an issue with the lights in our bathroom. I contacted Paul via Trust a Trader on Sunday night and by early Monday morning I had a quote and a day and time arranged for the work to be done. Paul was prompt and did a fantastic job. I should also add that the day Paul did the job was bad snow and Paul still arrived on time. If anyone needs a reliable electrician that does a great job, I cannot recommend Paul highly enough

Worth knowing before you call

From our own advice pages, in short.

  • As a rule of thumb, have the wiring inspected and tested about every 5 years. If you rent a property out, an EICR is a legal requirement.

  • An up to date consumer unit is probably the best single thing you can do to make a home's electrics safer.

  • Most people expect to need a rewire every 30 years or so. Rubber cabling anywhere in the house is a sure sign it is needed, and soon.

  • Alarm backup batteries last around 4 to 5 years, then they should be replaced.
